a little intro (my first post!) and some breakfast

Hello, world, hello.

Hello, mom. I know you're reading this, as you should be because you're my main motivation for starting this! So now you'll know what I'm up to. Har har... ...This is awkward.

Now, I don't know exactly what I'll be blogging about. There are so many parts to my life, so it will probably be a jumble! Maybe blogging about them all will help me to establish a little order to them. That said, some things you can probably expect to find here are arbitrary ramblings, notes on music, maybe some drawings and doodles, posts about exciting things I see or find, a bit about handmade living, the things I make, posts with vibrant pictures of food (scrumptious vegan food... yes, I'm one of those... by which i mean a person who likes to post pictures of food), a tutorial or two if I find myself knowledgeable enough about something, student life, friends, family (though they are somewhat far away)! Hmm, what else. I'm not sure! Maybe you'll be entertained, maybe you'll learn something, maybe you'll fall asleep, or maybe you will think that I'm plain weird. Well, that's okay too, I guess... ! ...?

In order to liven up this first post, here is a picture of my breakfast of what I call Soymilk Fruit Soup. Yeah, sounds gross doesn't it? I actually don't call it that.

Anyways, it looks yucky (my foodography skills aren't that great) but it tastes AWESOME! Mango, strawberries and nectarines swimming in vanilla soymilk with cinnamon and chia seeds on top. It's pretty refreshing.

The only thing funny was that it tasted slightly like cumin because I ground the chia seeds in my spice grinder (I grind everything in there) and there were some remnants of cumin powder in there. Oh well, it wasn't bad! It isn't the first time that cumin has surprised me like that. Sometimes I find myself making something in the kitchen, and then all of a sudden I get a whiff of something like really bad BO, and I'm like "Man, I gotta take a shower," and then I realize it's the cumin in the spice grinder from last week.

That's it. Until later!
